Jura without a heated pool? A missed opportunity

What the Jura lakes can’t offer you

The Jura is one of France’s most popular camping destinations, and for good reason: turquoise lakes, dense forests, spectacular waterfalls and exceptional gastronomy make this an incomparable natural setting. But the Jura climate, mountainous and sometimes capricious, makes a heated aquatic area essential if you want to make the most of your vacation, even in May, June or early September.

This is exactly what Jura Vacances has to offer: a group of three campsites in the Jura with heated pools, each boasting complete aquatic facilities suitable for the whole family. Rain or shine, young and old alike can take a dip, slide down the waterslides or relax in a bubble bath, in the heart of one of France’s most beautiful regions.

With over 150 customer reviews rated 9/10, Jura Vacances is the benchmark for campsites with swimming pools in the Jura for families, couples and nature lovers.

Your questions about Jura Vacances aquatic areas

Which campsites in the Jura have a heated swimming pool?

Each of the three campsites in the Jura Vacances group has a heated pool area. Camping Le Moulin features an indoor pool heated to 28°C from April 30, with sauna and steam room. Camping Domaine de l’Épinette offers a large heated outdoor pool with 3 slides and free aqua aerobics. Camping Les Pêcheurs has a 200 m² pool area with indoor and outdoor pools, and a bubble bath.

Are there waterslides at Jura Vacances campsites?

Yes. Camping Le Moulin has 4 slides, including a large tubular slide 7 m high and over 50 m long (accessible from 1.10 m, open from 2 p.m.). Camping Domaine de l’Épinette has 3 slides accessible to all. Camping Les Pêcheurs has no slides, but offers water games and a bubble bath for relaxation.

When is the best time to camp with a swimming pool in the Jura?

Mid-June to early September is the ideal period: all the outdoor pools are heated and the slides fully operational. For a visit in May or early June, opt for Camping Le Moulin (indoor pool from April 30) or Camping Les Pêcheurs (open from May 13 with connected heated pools). These two campsites allow you to enjoy the pool even when outside temperatures are still cool.

Are campsites with swimming pools in the Jura suitable for young children?

Absolutely. Each of the three campsites has a paddling pool dedicated to toddlers. The Domaine de l’Épinette has integrated water games. Please note: the water areas are not supervised by a qualified lifeguard. Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.

Are the aquatic areas accessible to outside campers?

No. For safety and insurance reasons, water areas are reserved exclusively for campers staying at the campsite concerned. An identification bracelet is required for access to the pools.

Do Jura Vacances campsites offer supervised water activities?

Yes. Camping Domaine de l’Épinette offers free aquagym sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 10.15am from July 15 to August 28, supervised by a qualified instructor. Camping Le Moulin offers a sauna and hammam wellness area for adults only, open daily from 4pm to 7pm.

Are there campsites in the Jura with lakeside pools?

The three Jura Vacances campsites are located less than 10 km from Lac de Vouglans, right on the banks of the River Ain. Camping Les Pêcheurs is located in Pont-de-Poitte, just a few hundred meters from the lake. Camping Le Moulin and Domaine de l’Épinette are in Patornay and Châtillon, in the same lakeside micro-region. You’ll enjoy an on-site heated swimming pool and quick access to natural lake bathing.

What activities are available near campsites with swimming pools in the Jura?

The lake region offers a wide choice of activities: swimming and water sports on Lac de Vouglans, hiking to the Hérisson waterfalls (ranked among the most beautiful in France), visits to Jura caves and retreats, vineyard routes and Jura wine tasting. The three campsites are an ideal base from which to explore the department, before returning to relax in the aquatic area at the end of the day.
